China's manganese ore prices weaken further

Chinese prices of manganese ore slid further this week, with that of South Africa-origin 36.5% grade Mn ore at North China's Tianjin port under Mysteel's assessment falling to Yuan 29.5/dmtu ($4.1/dmtu) including the 13% VAT as of December 13, down another Yuan 0.4/dmtu on week.

Manganese alloy smelters have tried to pare back their procurement prices of manganese ore to lower their smelting costs, as domestic silicomanganese prices remain weak, Mysteel Global learned.
