China's natural gas market to eye 100 bln cm3/y oversupply in 15th Five-Year Plan period

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China's natural gas supply is projected to increase amid policy and market-side support, but demand is expected to stay soft, leading to a supply surplus of about 100 bln cm3/y.

With natural gas supply increasing but demand waning, China's natural gas market is projected to transition from a tight balance to an oversupply during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. By 2030, total available supply (including domestic conventional and unconventional gas, as well as contracted pipeline imports and LNG) is estimated
