NBS: China’s clean energy generation on the rise by May

China’s total power generation of all resources declined by 3.1% on year to 2.7 trillion kWh over January-May, while most of the non-fossil sources including wind, nuclear and solar posted gains on year, according to the latest data from the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on June 15.

The drop in the total power generation was less than the 5% on-year drop for the first four months, with the decline mainly from thermal and hydro power, according to the official data. Winter and spring over November-April are usually dry season in China, making it difficult hydro power houses to operate, Mysteel
