Australian coal exports via Gladstone drop for a 3rd month in March

Exports of coal for all uses from Gladstone port in Queensland, northeast Australia, dropped for a third consecutive month in March to 4.95 million tonnes, down 3.1% on month and by 9.2% on year, Mysteel Global calculated based on the latest data from Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC).

Last month, exports to Japan – typically the largest market for outbound coal via Gladstone – dropped for a third month to 1.55 million tonnes, down about 10% from February and by 0.6% from March last year. Shipments to India via Gladstone also recorded notable declines of 39% on month
