NBS: China’s Apr manufacturing PMI slips to 51.1

China’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for the manufacturing industry inched down by 0.8 basis point on month to 51.1 for April, though having persisted in the expansion zone since March 2020, and all the key sub-indices including production and new orders were also above 50, according to the latest release by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on April 30.

“In April, the PMI for the manufacturing industryhas continued to improve, though at a less degree, after the noticeable rebound in March, and it is also above the levels both for April 2019 and April 2020, confirming that the sector has been enjoying a steady growth,”the Bureau’s senior statistician Zhao Qinghecommented. This month, growths
