NBS: China industrial firms' profits jump 15% YoY in Jan-Feb

Sizable Chinese industrial enterprises recorded a total gross profit of Yuan 1.02 trillion ($148.2 billion) for the first two months of 2026, posting a marked 15.2% increase from the same period last year, according to the latest data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on March 27.

The Bureau defines "sizable industrial firms" as those with annual main business revenue of at least Yuan 20 million. Total business revenue of the sizable industrial companies also climbed on the back of higher output and product prices, creating favourable conditions for better corporate profitability, emphasized Yu Weining, a statistician
