Recently, the official WeChat account of Findreams Battery announced that the first phase of the power battery project of FAW Findreams was successfully launched on February 2nd. After two years of construction, the joint venture power battery factory between BYD and FAW Group has been declared put into operation.
It is reported that the project is located in the Automobile Industry Development Zone of Changchun City, Jilin Province, with a total area of 370,000 square meters and a building area of 340,000 square meters. According to the official disclosure of FAW Findreams in August 2022, the project has a total investment of Yuan 18 billion and will be constructed in three phases. After completion, the total production capacity will be 45 GWh, providing blade batteries for nearly 600,000 vehicles.
The first phase of the project has an investment of Yuan 7 billion and an annual production capacity of 15 GWh. It adopts BYD's most advanced blade battery technology, combined with a high integration design scheme without modules. The first batch of products will be matched with new energy models such as Hongqi and Pentium.
