Korea's KTC recommends AD tariffs on Chinese heavy plates

After five months of investigations, the Korea Trade Commission (KTC) has found that imports of Chinese heavy plates had caused damage to domestic steel producers, announcing on Thursday that it is recommending that the Ministry of Economy and Finance impose antidumping duties of as much as 38.02%.

Coming amid an increasingly fractious global steel-trade environment, the KTC's decision is seen as an attempt by the government to defend domestic steelmakers and their home market, according to Korean sources.
