UPDATE: Korea extends provisional AD duties on Chinese GI sheets, coils

South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance has decided to extend provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties on surface-treated cold-rolled zinc and zinc-alloy products originating from China for another three months, the Korean ministry announced last Thursday.

The provisional duties, first imposed on June 12 for four months through October 11, target cold-rolled zinc and zinc alloy products less than 4.75mm thick, supplied in the form of coils, sheets, and plates, as reported. The scope also covers corrugated products and those coated with paint, varnish, or plastic. Electrolytically zinc-plated or coated products, as well as galvannealed products, are excluded.

The affected products fall under Korean tariff codes (HSK) of 7210.41.0000, 7210.49.9010, 7210.49.9090, 7210.61.0000, 7210.70.2000, 7212.30.9010, 7212.30.9090, 7212.40.2000, 7225.92.9091, 7225.92.9099, and 7226.99.3000.

The AD duty rates are set at 22.34% for Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Union Co., Ltd. and its affiliates, 26.28% for Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. and its affiliates, 33.67% for Winstone Development Ltd. of Hong Kong, and 25.75% for all other Chinese producers and exporters. These measures will now remain in force through January 11 2027.

The investigation for the case was launched on November 28 2025, by the Korea Trade Commission, under South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, following a petition filed last July by domestic producers Dongkuk CM, KG Steel and SeAH CM, as Mysteel Global reported.
