NEA: China's installed power capacity by end-Mar up 15% YoY

China's total installed electricity generation capacity reached 3.43 billion kilowatts (kW) as of the end of March, up by 14.6% from the year-ago level, according to the latest data released by the country's National Energy Administration (NEA) on March 20.
Among the total, the installed capacity of solar power posted the largest increase, surging by 43.4% on year to 946.32 million kW, while that of thermal power, primarily coal-based power, reached 1.45 billion kW, up by 3.9% from the previous year, according to the NEA data.     China's newly-installed capacity of
