NBS: China's Jan-Apr pig iron output grows 0.8% YoY

China's pig iron production over January-April this year totalled 288.9 million tonnes, higher by 0.8% compared with the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday morning.

In April alone, the country's pig iron ore output increased by 0.7% on year to reach 72.6 million tonnes, the NBS data showed. On a per-day basis, however, the output averaged 2.42 million tonnes/day, lower by 3.2% from the average in March, Mysteel Global calculated. The NBS results tally with
