NBS: China's Jan-Oct pig iron production falls 1.8% YoY

China produced 711.4 million tonnes of pig iron during January-October this year, lower by 1.8% compared with the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on November 14.

The reduction in pig iron output was less pronounced than the 3.9% decline in China's crude steel production during the same period, Mysteel Global noted. For October alone, the country's pig iron output fell by 7.9% on year to 65.6 million tonnes, marking an acceleration from the 2.4% on-year drop
