South Korea's Dongkuk Steel to stop Incheon rebar plant for summer

For the first time in its 71-year history, South Korean electric furnace steelmaker Dongkuk Steel intends to completely halt all operations at its huge Incheon rebar plant west of Seoul for 24 days from the peak of summer, the company announced on May 26. The stoppage will reduce rebar supply by about 90,000 tonnes, Mysteel Global notes.
