China Shenhua's coal sales retreat YoY for a 4th month in April

China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., a listed arm of the country's top coal and power producer China Energy Investment Corporation, says its coal sales in April declined by 4% on year to reach 35.6 million tonnes and making for the fourth consecutive monthly on-year decline, according to the Beijing-based company's recent monthly operation report.

Last month, China's market for thermal coal was generally sluggish amid poor demand from power stations. The company's coal sales in tandem recorded worse coal sales compared with the same month last year.
