S Africa's Transnet shortens annual coal rail maintenance to 12 days

South African state ports and rail freight company Transnet announced on July 17 that it will shorten its FY2025-26 annual coal railway maintenance period to 12 days from the originally scheduled 15 days, in a bid to juggle operation safety with efficiency.
