FMG achieves record iron ore shipments in FY25, sets higher target

Australian mining giant Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) shipped a record 198.4 million wet tonnes of iron ore (on a 100% basis) during its fiscal 2025 year (spanning July 2024-June 2025) and hitting the top end of its 190-200 million wet tonnes (wmt) guidance for the fiscal, according to its latest quarterly report released on July 24. The result also made for a 4% on-year increase.

The result was achieved despite the disruptions caused by severe weather events during Q3 FY25, the report noted, crediting the accomplishment to strong recovery across mining, processing, rail and shipping in Q4. Several cyclones hit coastal Western Australia earlier this year causing flooding and disrupting transportation, as Mysteel Global
