On August 8, at CNMC Zhengyuan (Anhui) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. located in the eastern zone of Tongling Economic Development Area, workers in various production workshops are conducting trial operations of precursor production lines for lithium battery cathode materials in an orderly manner.
It is reported that the project involves a total planned investment of Yuan 10 billion, marking the first venture in Tongling-and Anhui province as a whole-jointly invested by China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group and Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. The first phase of construction commenced in March 2023, with trial production beginning in May this year. Currently, all production lines have entered the trial production stage.
Upon reaching full capacity, the first phase is expected to achieve an annual output of 20,000 tonnes of ternary cathode material precursors for lithium-ion batteries and 10,000 tonnes of Co3O4, with projected annual revenue of Yuan 3-4 billion. This initiative will support Tongling in establishing a high-end green new energy material production and supply base, driving high-quality economic growth in the region.
