On April 15, Ronbay Technology announced that it plans to invest a total of approximately Yuan 4.298 billion to build production capacity for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) precursors and cathode materials. Specifically, utilizing the plant buildings and auxiliary facilities of Guizhou Xinren New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., as well as the existing plant buildings at the former Lifan factory site in Bijie High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the company will construct an annual capacity of 520,000 tonnes of wet-process LFP precursors and 340,000 tonnes of pyrometallurgical LFP cathode materials, respectively. The precursor wet-process project is a pre-treatment step for the LFP pyrometallurgical project. Upon completion of both projects, the company will have an annual production capacity of 340,000 tonnes of LFP cathode materials.
