The winning bid in Wednesday morning's auction for Japanese H2 grade ferrous scrap for export through Tokyo Bay before end-October was Yen 41,970/tonne ($285/t) FAS, higher by a tiny Yen 82/t from the top price in last month's tender, according to auction organizer the Kanto Tetsugen grouping of scrap dealers around Tokyo.

Though the increase was half the size of the Yen 172/t rise recorded in last month's tender for current month shipments, it marked the second consecutive on-month increase, Mysteel Global notes.
