On September 19, at the 2025 Suining International Lithium Battery Industry Conference, Chongqing Lead Energy Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed an agreement with Shehong City, Sichuan Province, to invest Yuan 5.5 billion in constructing a project with an annual output of 5,000 tonnes of composite lithium metal anode materials for solid-state batteries.
According to reports, the project will be located in the Shehong Lithium Battery Industrial Park, covering a planned area of 400 acres. It aims to build a full-scale lithium metal industrial base integrating R&D and production. The products can be widely used in high-tech fields such as next-generation solid-state batteries, controllable nuclear fusion, and aerospace.
Currently, Lead Energy has built a 200-tonne pilot production line for lithium metal. Its products have passed multiple authoritative tests and have successfully entered the supply chain qualification list of CATL. The company is also actively engaged in industry-university-research collaboration with relevant laboratories at Tsinghua University to jointly advance the R&D for the industrial application of lithium metal anodes in solid-state batteries.
According to the project plan, the company aims to achieve hundred-tonne-level sample production by 2025, complete the construction of a 400-tonne capacity and commence official production in 2026, reach an 800-tonne capacity while initiating its IPO application process in 2027, and strive to achieve full production capacity of 5,000 tonnes by 2030. After the project is fully operational, the annual revenue is expected to reach Yuan 5 billion, with net profit exceeding Yuan 1 billion. By then, it is projected to become a significant growth pole for the new lithium battery materials industry in Southwest China and even the entire country.
