According to the report on October 21, the electric vehicle batteries from FinDreams Battery (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. began rolling off the production line.
The project is located in Xianju County and serves as BYD's strategic base for EV power batteries. With a planned investment of Yuan 8.8 billion, the project is designed to achieve an annual production capacity of 22 GWh of EV power batteries once fully operational. This year, all eight production lines have been put into operation.
In terms of project construction details, the project adopts BYD's latest sixth-generation Blade Battery technology. This technology increases energy density by 15% compared to the previous generation, reduces production costs by 10%, and supports an 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform, making it compatible with next-generation high-end EV models.
In addition to the Taizhou base, another BYD project base in Shengzhou, Shaoxing, Zhejiang, has also entered a new phase this year. On July 16, the environmental impact assessment for the Shaoxing BYD annual 15 GWh lithium battery and supporting project entered the public disclosure phase. This project, with a total investment of Yuan 6 billion, is the second phase. The first phase, with a total investment of Yuan 7 billion yuan, was completed and put into operation in 2022, producing DM-i-specific Blade Batteries with an annual capacity of 15 GWh.
With the Taizhou project's batteries gradually rolling off the production line, it is expected that the second phase of the Shaoxing project will soon enter the production stage. Previously, a responsible official from the Shengzhou Reform Office stated that the BYD Shengzhou project is scheduled to be fully operational by 2025. Once all phases are completed, the total investment for the entire project will exceed Yuan 25 billion, with an estimated output value of over Yuan 30 billion. It is projected to become BYD's largest battery and energy storage manufacturing base in East China.
