NEA: China's installed power capacity jumps 17.5% on year by end-Sept

China's total installed electricity generation capacity reached 3.72 billion kilowatts (kW) as of the end of September, up by 17.5% from the year-ago level, according to the latest data released by the country's National Energy Administration (NEA) on October 26.
Among the total, the installed capacity of solar power posted the largest increase, surging by 45.7% on year to 1.1 billion kW, while that of thermal power, primarily coal-based power, reached 1.5 billion kW, up by 5.7% from end-September 2024, according to the NEA data.     China's newly-installed capacity of all
