Whitehaven's Q1 FY26 raw coal output drops amid disruptions

Whitehaven Coal Limited, one of Australia's leading coal miners, registered a run-of-mine (ROM) coal output of 9.05 million tonnes (on a 100% basis) during the July-September quarter, according to the company's latest quarterly performance report. The volume dropped by 14.5% on quarter and 6.5% on year, reflecting production disruptions at its mines during the period, the report noted.

The company operates six mines in the Gunnedah Coal Basin of New South Wales (NSW) and in the Bowen Basin in central Queensland (QLD).
