China's key coal railway Tangbao to boost capacity by 7.5 mln t/y

The transport capacity of the Tangbao railway -- China's third-largest coal transport route after the Daqin and Shuohuang lines -- is set to increase by 7.5 million tonnes/year following the completion of a series of facility upgrades in mid-November, according to China Railway Hohhot Group, which oversees rail operations in North China's Inner Mongolia, one of the country's key coal regions.

The recent upgrades include the opening of the new Pingdiquan station, the renovation of Xinghe West station, and improvements to power supply facilities along certain sections of the Tangbao line. These enhancements have resolved several bottlenecks and boosted heavy-duty train turnaround efficiency in key sections by more than 30%.
