GACC: Chinese stainless scrap imports dive 47% in Oct

China's imports of stainless steel scrap decreased precipitously during October as demand for the feedstock from stainless steel mills weakened, Mysteel Global observed.

The country imported just 7,600 tonnes of stainless scrap last month, plummeting by 47.1% from September and down 11.7% from October 2024, according to new data released by the General Administration of Customs (GACC).
