South Korea's stainless steel imports surged in February, driven by traders rushing to secure cargoes ahead of an anticipated sharp price increase in March.

The country imported approximately 60,700 tonnes of stainless steel last month, a significant increase of 7,300 tonnes or 13.6% from the previous month and up 4,500 tonnes or 8% compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Korea Customs Service.
