Recently, the Department of Natural Resources of Qinghai Province announced the 2025 Provincial Green Mining List, with the Xiarihamu HS26 Anomaly Area Nickel-Copper Mine included as one of the designated sites. As the main developer, Qinghai Jinchuan Mining Company has integrated ecological protection with mining operations from the outset, working to overcome numerous challenges such as high altitude, arid climate, intense evaporation, severe soil alkalization, and difficulties in vegetation restoration in the mining area.
In the field of ecological restoration, the project has carried out targeted trials on adaptive vegetation planting. At an elevation of 3,200 meters, it has successfully introduced a variety of resilient plant species, including Elymus dahuricus, highland barley, Festuca sinensis, alkali grass, and tamarisk. These plants effectively contribute to windbreak and sand fixation, soil and water conservation, and improvement of the local micro-environment. Additionally, the company has continuously strengthened standardized management, promoted technological innovation, and fostered a green corporate culture, diligently fulfilling its energy-saving and emission-reduction responsibilities to achieve both efficient resource utilization and environmental protection goals.
