First Simandou iron ore shipment arrives in China

The first commercial shipment of iron ore from the massive Simandou project in Guinea in West Africa arrived in China on January 17, marking a milestone in the global steel industry, China Baowu Steel Group said in a Wechat post released on the same day.

A bulk carrier loaded with about 200,000 tonnes of high-grade Simandou iron ore arrived at Majishan Port in East China's Zhejiang province after a 46-day voyage, the post noted.
