Indonesia's 2025 coke exports surge over 28% YoY, set its record high

Indonesia's exports of all types of coke totalled 7.15 million tonnes during 2025, topping the 5.56 million tonnes exported in 2024 by a huge 28.7% and setting a new all-time high, according to the latest data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS).

The climb in coke exports from Indonesia reflected the rapid release of production capacity, mostly in the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), a major industrial hub of the country hosting about 11.2 million tonnes/year of coke capacity as of 2024, according to the Southeast Asia Iron and Steel Institute,
