Production:
In January, the total production of power and energy storage batteries in China reached 168.0 GWh, representing a month-on-month decrease of 16.7% and a year-on-year increase of 55.9%.
Sales:
In January, China's total sales volume of power and energy storage batteries was 148.8 GWh, down 25.4% month-on-month but up 85.1% year-on-year. Of this total, power battery sales accounted for 102.7 GWh, representing 69.0% of total sales, a decrease of 28.6% month-on-month and an increase of 63.2% year-on-year. Energy storage battery sales reached 46.1 GWh, accounting for 31.0% of total sales, down 17.0% month-on-month and up 164.0% year-on-year.
In January, a combined total of 24.1 GWh of power and energy storage batteries was exported from China, a month-on-month decrease of 26.0% and a year-on-year increase of 38.3%, accounting for 16.2% of the month's total sales. Within this, power battery exports amounted to 17.7 GWh, comprising 73.3% of total exports, down 7.1% month-on-month and up 59.3% year-on-year. Energy storage battery exports totaled 6.4 GWh, representing 26.7% of total exports, a decrease of 52.6% month-on-month and an increase of 1.4% year-on-year.
Installation:
In January, China's installed capacity of power batteries stood at 42.0 GWh, a month-on-month decline of 57.2% but a year-on-year increase of 8.4%. Within this, ternary battery installations reached 9.4 GWh, accounting for 22.3% of total installations, down 48.6% month-on-month and up 9.6% year-on-year. Lithium iron phosphate battery installations totaled 32.7 GWh, comprising 77.7% of total installations, a decrease of 59.1% month-on-month and an increase of 8.1% year-on-year.
