Production:
In December, China's combined production of power and energy storage batteries reached 201.7 GWh, marking a month-on-month increase of 14.4% and a year-on-year rise of 62.1%. From January to December, the cumulative production of power and energy storage batteries amounted to 1,755.6 GWh, reflecting a cumulative year-on-year growth of 60.1%.
Sales:
In December, China's sales of power and energy storage batteries totaled 199.3 GWh, showing a month-on-month increase of 11.1% and a year-on-year growth of 57.5%. Within this total, sales of power batteries reached 143.8 GWh, accounting for 72.1% of total sales, with a rise of 7.3% MoM and an increase of 49.2% YoY. Sales of energy storage batteries amounted to 55.6 GWh, representing 27.9% of total sales, with a month-on-month growth of 22.4% and a year-on-year surge of 84.0%.
In 2025, the cumulative sales of power and energy storage batteries in China stood at 1,700.5 GWh, representing a cumulative year-on-year increase of 63.6%. Within this total, cumulative sales of power batteries reached 1,200.9 GWh, accounting for 70.6% of total sales and showing cumulative year-on-year growth of 51.8%. Cumulative sales of energy storage batteries amounted to 499.6 GWh, representing 29.4% of total sales and reflecting cumulative year-on-year growth of 101.3%.
Exports
In December, China's total exports of power and energy storage batteries reached 32.6 GWh, showing a month-on-month increase of 1.3% and a year-on-year rise of 49.2%, accounting for 16.4% of that month's total sales. Within this total, exports of power batteries amounted to 19.0 GWh, representing 58.4% of total exports, with a month-on-month decline of 10.4% but a year-on-year increase of 47.1%. Exports of energy storage batteries reached 13.6 GWh, accounting for 41.6% of total exports, with a month-on-month growth of 23.9% and a year-on-year increase of 52.2%.
From January to December, China's cumulative exports of power and energy storage batteries reached 305.0 GWh, reflecting cumulative year-on-year growth of 50.7% and accounting for 17.9% of the annual cumulative sales. Within this total, cumulative exports of power batteries amounted to 189.7 GWh, representing 62.2% of total exports and showing cumulative growth of 41.9% YoY. Cumulative exports of energy storage batteries reached 115.3 GWh, accounting for 37.8% of total exports and reflecting cumulative year-on-year growth of 67.9%.
Installation:
In December, China's installed capacity of power batteries reached 98.1 GWh, marking a month-on-month increase of 4.9% and a year-on-year rise of 35.1%. Within this total, the installed capacity of ternary batteries was 18.2 GWh, accounting for 18.6% of the total installed capacity, with a month-on-month increase of 0.2% and a year-on-year growth of 40.5%. The installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 79.8 GWh, representing 81.3% of the total installed capacity, with a month-on-month increase of 5.9% and a year-on-year growth of 33.7%.
From January to December, China's cumulative installed capacity of power batteries reached 769.7 GWh, reflecting cumulative year-on-year growth of 40.4%. Within this total, the cumulative installed capacity of ternary batteries was 144.1 GWh, accounting for 18.7% of the total installed capacity and showing cumulative year-on-year growth of 3.7%. The cumulative installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 625.3 GWh, representing 81.2% of the total installed capacity and reflecting cumulative year-on-year growth of 52.9%.
