NMDC posts higher iron ore output and sales in January

National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC), India's largest state-owned iron ore producer, reported iron ore output of 5.56 million tonnes in January 2026, up by 9% on year and marking the company's highest-ever production for the month of January, according to its latest monthly production and sales statement.

The company's iron ore sales also reached a record high for January at 4.79 million tonnes, rising 3.2% from December and 6.9% compared with the same month last year.
