China's Wari railway starts 17-day spring maintenance

China's Watang-Rizhao (Wari) railway, a critical artery for the country's west-to-east coal transportation, began annual spring maintenance on March 14 in preparation for heavier traffic during the upcoming summer peak demand season, according to its operator China Railway Taiyuan (CR Taiyuan) Group.

The maintenance is scheduled to last 17 days, during which operations on the Wari line will be suspended for three hours each day, the operator said.
