GACC: China's HC FeCr imports halve in Jan-Feb

China's imports of high-carbon ferrochrome (HC FeCr) plunged by 51.6% year on year to 265,135 tonnes in the first two months of 2026, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs (GACC). The sharp decline was driven primarily by the plunge in shipments from South Africa, with imports from the country in the same period plummeting 83.3% from the year-earlier level to 40,666 tonnes, the data show.

Supply from Kazakhstan, another major supplier, also weakened, with imports falling 19.7% year on year to 158,408 tonnes over the same period, the GACC data show.
