According to the latest updates on March 27, BYD Energy Storage has recently entered into a new strategic partnership with Grenergy, a leading clean energy company in Spain. Under this agreement, BYD will supply 468 MC Cube-T energy storage systems with a total capacity of 2.6 GWh for the Oasis Central Solar-plus-Storage Project in central Chile. These systems will be deployed across four solar-plus-storage power plants, including Gran Teno, Tamango, Planchón, and Monte Águila.
This collaboration marks the second major partnership between the two companies, following their 3.5 GWh agreement in May 2025, the largest energy storage project in Latin America at the time. Currently, 168 storage cabinets supplied by BYD Energy Storage for the Gran Teno solar-plus-storage power plant have already been loaded for shipment in Shenzhen and are expected to arrive at the project site by mid-April. The remaining equipment is being dispatched according to plan, and the Gran Teno plant is anticipated to achieve grid connection and commence commercial operation in the second quarter of this year.
