Aluminum Company
Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco), China's leading state-owned aluminum producer, reported a 1.7% on-year increase in its operating revenue for the full year of 2025 at Yuan 241.1 billion ($35.1 billion), according to its latest annual results.

Over the same period, the company's total profit rose by 15.8% from 2024 to Yuan 25.8 billion, while its net profit attributable to shareholders edged up by 2.3% on year to Yuan 12.7 billion.

The improvement in earnings was mainly driven by stronger primary aluminum prices and enhanced cost control, Chalco said.

The company exceeded its 2025 production targets, according to the report. Output of metallurgical-grade alumina reached 17.35 million tonnes last year, up 2.9% from the previous year. Of the total, 6.42 million tonnes or 37% was sold externally, marking a 1.1% increase from the previous year.

Despite higher output, revenue from the alumina segment declined by 16.8% on year to Yuan 61.59 billion in 2025 as a consequence of lower alumina prices over the year, the report said.

Meanwhile, the company's primary aluminum production increased by 6.2% from a year earlier to 8.08 million tonnes during the year. Nearly all output – some 8.07 million tonnes or 99.9% – was sold to external customers, also up 6.2% from 2024.

Revenue from the primary aluminum segment climbed by 6.8% from a year earlier to Yuan 145.6 billion in 2025, mainly supported by higher aluminum prices.

In addition to its core alumina and primary aluminum operations, Chalco also produces bauxite, chemical-grade alumina, coal, and thermal power. Headquartered in Beijing, the company is listed on both the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges.
