Amid strong demand in the energy storage sector, EVE Energy announced two consecutive energy storage projects on April 7, planning to invest a total of Yuan 11 billion to add 110 GWh of new production capacity. Combined with the Huizhou Zhongkai and Jingmen projects announced a few days earlier, the company's cumulative planned total production capacity for energy storage (and power) batteries so far this year has reached 230 GWh.
On the evening of April 7, EVE Energy issued multiple announcements. The company plans to sign an agreement with the Qidong Municipal Government to build a 50 GWh energy storage battery production base in Qidong Economic Development Zone, with a total project investment of approximately Yuan 5 billion.
Another announcement stated that the company plans to sign an agreement with the Shanghang County Government to build an annual 60 GWh energy storage battery production base at the Shanghang Baisha New Materials Innovation Valley in Fujian Province. The project has a planned total investment of about Yuan 6 billion. The project will be jointly built by EVE Energy and Longking Environmental Protection. The joint venture company has a registered capital of Yuan 900 million, with EVE Energy holding an 80% stake and Longking holding 20%. The two parties will deeply integrate efforts in securing key raw material supplies and iterating large-format cell technologies, while also jointly developing solutions in multiple fields such as new energy mining trucks and mine microgrids.
