Tengyuan Cobalt Co., Ltd. announced that it plans to invest in the construction of a 160,000-tonne-per-year sulfur-based sulfuric acid plant and associated power generation facilities in the city of Kolwezi, Lualaba Province, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project involves an investment of US$18 million, with a construction period of approximately 13 months. The sulfuric acid unit is scheduled to commence production in 11 months, while the power generation unit is expected to come online in 13 months. Production of sulfuric acid is projected to begin in August 2027, with power generation starting in October 2027.
