Last week, cobalt intermediates remained flat, with quotations stalling at the price of USD $25.9 per pound and no actual transactions reported. From February to March, downstream demand decreased significantly, while transaction prices for cobalt salts and Co3O4 declined, leading to lower profit margins, which suppressed the upward movement of cobalt intermediate prices. The expected arrival volume in April is less than 2,000 tonnes, primarily under long-term agreements, resulting in low liquidity. Meanwhile, it remains difficult for producers under long-term contracts to achieve price increases.
