At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China at 10 a.m. on April 14, Wang Jun, Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs, stated that central and western China are leveraging their advantages in wind, solar, hydropower, and lithium salt resources, as well as a strong foundation in the new energy vehicle industry, to create new opportunities in the green sector.
In the first quarter, exports of the three products -- electric vehicles (EVs), photovoltaic (PV) products, and lithium-ion batteries -- from central and western China grew 24.7 percentage points faster than the national average for the same category. Among them, EV exports accounted for over 40% of the national total, while PV product exports represented more than 30%.
Central and western China also hold notable advantages in traditional electromechanical products. For example, for every 10 internal combustion engine motorcycles exported by China, 4 come from the region. Notably, the domestically produced "ZXMOTOR," which recently claimed victory in international competitions, originate from this region. In the first quarter, central and western China exported 1.754 million internal combustion engine motorcycles, up 7% year-on-year.
