The first project within Algeria's 3 GW photovoltaic project cluster -- the 220 MW Biskra solar power plant -- has officially commenced commercial operation.
Located on the northern edge of the Sahara Desert, the Biskra plant has a total installed capacity of 220 MW, featuring 379,600 sets of N-type TOPCon high-efficiency modules and covering approximately 400 hectares.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate 374 million kWh of electricity annually, saving about 112,200 tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 373,000 tonnes each year.
