South32's share of Mn ore output slips by 17% QoQ over Jan-Mar

South32 Ltd, the world's largest manganese miner headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, reported that its share of manganese ore output from its joint ventures in Australia and South Africa fell by 223,000 wet metric tonnes (wmt) or 17% on quarter to reach 1.09 million wmt over January-March, the third quarter of its financial year 2026 ending this June, according to the company's latest quarterly report released on April 22.

South32 holds 60% of the Australia Manganese joint venture, while its share in the South Africa Manganese joint venture is 54.6%, the report said. Manganese ore production at the two joint ventures over January-March was clearly lower than the prior quarter, with the output at the Australian Manganese joint venture
