On April 28, the price of electrolytic cobalt rose Yuan 4,386/tonne to Yuan 412,591-415,545/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride remained stable at Yuan 93,000/t-96,000/t and 113,000-118,000/t respectively.Supported by strong raw material costs, mainstream cobalt sulfate smelters have a clear intention to hold prices firm. However, downstream manufacturers showed strong resistance to price increases, while quotations from small and medium-sized plants remained stable. With limited restocking of ternary precursors, the mainstream transaction price held at around Yuan 91,000/tonne, while procurement transactions in other downstream industries are concluded at around Yuan 94,000/tonne. Cobalt chloride transaction prices remained stable at approximately Yuan 115,000/tonne.
