CSSC: China's Q1 stainless steel output rises 4.4% YoY

China's production of crude stainless steel totaled 9.85 million tonnes during the first quarter of this year, representing an on-year rise of 414,000 tonnes or 4.4%, according to the latest data released by the Stainless Steel Council of China Iron and Steel Association (CSSC) on April 29.

The increase was mainly seen in the production of 200- and 400-series stainless, which jumped by 12.6% and 6.1% respectively on year, while the output of 300-series stainless dipped by 0.6% from January-March last year, the CSSC statistics showed.
