Sumitomo Metal Mining recently released its production report for the first quarter of 2026 (the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025). The report shows that the company produced 22,000 tonnes of nickel in the quarter, up 0.75% quarter-on-quarter and 9.95% year-on-year. This includes 16,600 tonnes of electrolytic nickel, 4,500 tonnes of nickel sulfate, and 900 tonnes of ferronickel (FeNi).
Separately, Sumitomo's NAC nickel project in the Philippines produced 9,600 tonnes of mixed nickel-cobalt sulfide during the quarter, down 20.66% quarter-on-quarter and 8.57% year-on-year.
