Pakistan launches AD probe into Chinese color-coated CR steel
The probe was initiated following an application filed on March 16 2026 by Karachi-based producer International Steels Limited, which alleged that imports from China are causing material injury to the domestic industry producing color-coated CR steel coils and sheets.
The products under investigation include pre-painted, painted, color-coated or organic-coated flat CR steel products, whether in coils or sheets, with or without metallic-coated substrates such as zinc, aluminum-zinc or other coatings.
The products include alloy and non-alloy steel in prime or non-prime quality, and may be supplied in coils, plain sheets or profiled sheets, including trapezoidal, sinusoidal, corrugated or other profiles. They are available in various paint qualities and colors, and may be coated on the top surface, bottom surface or both.
The investigated products fall under Pakistan Customs Tariff heading numbers 7210.7010, 7210.7020, 7210.7090, 7210.9010, 7210.9090, 7212.4010, 7212.4090 and 7225.9900.
The investigation covers the full year of 2025, while the injury assessment period runs from January 2023 to December 2025. A preliminary ruling is expected within 60 to 180 days from the date of the announcement.
