On May 27, SEMCORP announced that its subsidiary Jiangsu SEMCORP New Materials intends to acquire 100% of the equity of SK Materials (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. held by SKIET, with a base purchase price of Yuan 400 million. The target company is primarily engaged in the R&D, manufacturing, sales, and technical services of lithium-ion battery separators and coated films. It adopts a wet-process membrane manufacturing process and currently operates eight base film production lines with a designed annual capacity of approximately 940 million square meters, complemented by ten coating lines. This transaction will enable the company to rapidly supplement its existing production capacity, significantly shorten the greenfield capacity construction cycle, and save both project investment costs and time costs. It will also help the company promptly secure separator film orders and meet downstream customer demand.
