A magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck the Philippines region at 7:37 a.m. on June 8, according to China's Earthquake Networks Center, which officially measured the quake at 5.55 degrees north latitude and 125.10 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 40 kilometers.
According to Mysteel survey, two mines, Arc and Hallmark, located approximately 250 kilometers from the epicenter have a combined monthly shipment volume of around 200,000 tonnes. Additionally, China's National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center's tsunami warning center determined based on preliminary seismic parameters that the quake could trigger a large-scale tsunami near the epicenter. Mines near Mindanao have suspended loading operations pending the lifting of the tsunami alert, which is expected to affect shipping efficiency in surrounding sea areas.
