Mongolia coal exports rocket by 44% YoY in May

Mongolia's exports of coal for all uses in May reached 9.84 million tonnes, higher 44% on year despite a 14.8% drop from April, according to the latest data from Mongolia's Customs General Administration (CGA). All Mongolian coal exports were shipped to China in May, the CGA data showed.

Coal exports to China were delayed during May 1-3 when major Sino-Mongolia border ports stopped work for China's Labour Day holiday (May 1-5).
