On June 5, the Lingwu Municipal People's Government held a signing ceremony for a 2 GWh sodium-ion battery project investment agreement with Ningxia Zhiyao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. On the same day, the Lingwu Municipal People's Government and Ningxia Zhiyao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. also signed separate power trading service cooperation agreements with CGN (Ningxia) New Energy Co., Ltd.
According to the announcement, the 2 GWh sodium-ion battery project involves an investment of Yuan 1.06 billion. The project will be located at the Yinchuan High-tech Zone in Lingwu City, covering an area of approximately 100,000 square meters. The planned construction includes production workshops, warehousing areas, a research and office area, supporting dormitory facilities, and public green space. Upon completion, the project will achieve an annual sodium-ion battery production capacity of 2 GWh, filling the regional gap in large-scale energy storage battery manufacturing.
